No More Duplicates

Finally, the most wanted button arrived at Google Mail contacts to detect duplicates, this is just a small feature this will save us a Lot of time.

Some of you ask why duplicates in contacts could ever happen in the first place? the answer is simply it happens.

Contacts collected automatically from emails, phone book sync. or by manual import may result in the same person recorded twice or triple times due to simple variation in first name and middle name initials.

Erasing and merging duplicates manually wasn’t fun at all in fact when I faced it with my own small contact list I gave up and I preferred living with it rather trying to fix it.

Then what would a task to migrate big contact lists collected from old phone records, address books and mail clients for companies going Google look like? a Nightmare! or just a critical chore? it is THE most hectic chore I faced.

Now with this simple button the hide and seek game is over, merging duplicates could be done one by one or all at a time.

Just click “find duplicates” located at the right side. Enjoy.

Thank you GMail Team, Google Apps are getting better and easier.
