Fast iPhone OS – Faster unlock software for 3G Model

Although apple announced the 3.0 firmware (beta) upgrade for all iphone models three months ago for developers only, we didn’t expect to see a software unlock for iphone 3G that fast !
ultrasnOw is the new software unlock for iphone 2G and 3G that will unlock the device from being used with one network carrier and just today (2 weeks after the public final release of 3.0), iphone dev team announced ultrasnOw as per below:
Ultrasn0w for iPhone 3G is ready!
- Ensure you have upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0
- Jailbreak your iPhone 3G using redsn0w or PwnageTool (this will also install Cydia/Icy)
- Run Cydia or Icy
- Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or icy
- Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
- Reboot your iPhone 3G
- T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w
- Enjoy
While this requires a jailbroken phone, redsnow is a software that should be used to hack the phone system in order to enable the installation of Cydia and untrasnow accordingly.
For those who has an iphone 3G locked, now you can use this tool to install the 3.0 firmware and use it with any sim card you have.
